Akhmut is a cat.

The Egyptians love cats.

Therefore, the Egyptians love Akhmut.

---

Akhmut roams around the village, looking for prey. It is hot, and he's hungry. He spies a mouse, running across the ground.

He readies himself.

He pounces.

The mouse is captured.

Akhmut's master is kind. Akhmut's master loves him. She pets him, every single day, and feeds him yummy fish.

Akhmut loves her.

Temple day comes. Akhmut waits outside the brick temple, licking his fur. His master will be out soon. She always did.

He purrs in the sun, and goes to groom his foot.

Winter comes, and Akhmut burrows up inside. He buries himself in his master's lap, purring, as she strokes him.

Akhmut is happy.

Akhmut is no longer happy. He is growing old. His jaws hurt, his joints ache, and his tail droops.

Akhmut is growing old.

Akhmut is growing old.

It hurts to walk, his legs can barely hold him. His fur is white.

Akhmut is growing old.

Akhmut grows old.

He no longer walks, but lies down.

His master looks at him, then looks away.

Akhmut's time comes. His master lays him down, soothes him to sleep. Just before he sleeps, he sees his master's hand, and her tears.

Then, he goes to sleep.
